UCAC is dedicated to promoting and preserving the rich history of the African American community in St. Mary's County, Maryland. Our organization conducts in-depth research and provides extensive support for initiatives that highlight and celebrate the contributions of Black individuals and communities throughout history. UCAC will make every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy and validity of the information provided on its web pages. If you find any information to be incorrect please contact us directly.

Terms & Conditions - Use of Photographs and Stories

At UCAC, we understand the importance of transparent and fair guidelines to govern the use of our website content. Our Terms and Conditions outline the legal parameters that define the relationship between our visitors, constituents, and our organization. These terms are tailored to our specific mission of historical research and community support.

Use of any photographs, interviews, and stories found on this website, links within this website, and other affiliated websites (YouTube) is granted for educational purposes only. Proper recognition of UCAC, including the source and date if known, should be included with every reproduction. Use of our website content or other materials for purposes other than education or for any commercial use shall require the express written permission from UCAC's president.  

Privacy Policy

UCAC is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your personally identifiable information.  Personal information collected in our oral history documentation (interviews and personal stories) requires a release agreement, which we strictly adhere to.

Donations & Refund Policy

Donations to UCAC are expressly used in support of UCAC's mission. Unified Committee for Afro-American Contributions of St. Mary's County, Inc. is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity described in section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and is identified by federal number 52-1905395. Documents and information submitted to the State of Maryland under the Maryland Charitable Solicitations Act are available from the Office of the Secretary of State for the cost of copying and postage. Contributions to UCAC are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.

UCAC will consider requests for refunds and process those that are merited. Our policy is to be in support of you and our community. Vendor fees will be refunded only if the vendor cannot attend and has made a refund request to UCAC at least thirty days before the event date. Refunds will be processed for store items that do not meet the purchaser's satisfaction and are returned to UCAC within thirty days of purchase.
